SUPPORT THE YCSD ARTS! BECOME A FIRST NIGHTER!!

The First Nighters is a parent group whose mission is to support the YCSD Performing Arts programs.  Each year they invite parents to help their cause!   Some of their initiatives include:

  • Advocating for and supporting the arts programs in all schools.
  • Purchasing supplies for the arts programs in all schools.
  • Providing yearly scholarships to outstanding seniors.
  • Honoring Performing Arts juniors and seniors at an annual recognition dinner.

The First Nighters annual information letter is attached.  Please consider volunteering your time and talents, and/or becoming a sponsor.  Akin to the Husker’s invaluable support of Athletics, the First Nighters are a vital part of keeping the Performing Arts alive in YCSD!

PEP BAND @ SOMERS WAS A SUCCESS!

Many thanks to the 35 YHS Band students who turned out on Friday night 9/13 to cheer our Varsity Football team on to victory! We had fun collaborating with YHS Cheer and the “Crop” – not even a stadium blackout with 2 minutes remaining on the clock could extinguish our combined enthusiasm!

We are looking forward to our next Pep Band outing, which is this coming Friday 9/20 at Home. Details below.

APPLE PICKING

Today, 50 YHS Band students enjoyed a social outing to Wilken’s Farm!  Students had fun apple picking, eating yummy cider donuts, and making “bandtastic” memories.  Many thanks to sophomore (and CB Vice President) Bella Bravo, for organizing this year’s trip!  Photos attached for you to enjoy.
