As part of BOE appreciation week, Dr. Hattar invited our YHS Band, Choir and Orchestra officers to give a short presentation about our Music Department.  These students will be performing a few Pep Band songs, and then giving a 3 minute presentation.  If any other band students are interested in performing with us, we would welcome your support!

WHAT: Pep Band performance at the BOE Meeting

WHEN: Monday 10/30

WHERE: MESMS Cafeteria.  Arrive to MESMS by 6:50 with your instrument and flip folder.  We will be done by 7:45.

WEAR: YHS Band Polo

Many thanks to all the band families who donated snacks and hot chocolate for the Pep Band this past Friday.  The students much appreciated your generosity – as we weathered the chilly temps to help cheer on our Huskers to victory!

Our 14^th annual costume contest will take place in class on Tuesday, October 31^st.  Winners in each class will receive half of Ms. Kluga’s substantial citrus order.  (Extra points if your costume is home-made, or in any way musical.)  Looking forward to celebrating this fun day with you!

Quarter #1 is not even over, and our YHS Band students have clocked over 300 periods of peer tutoring/extra-help sessions!  Many thanks to our upperclassmen for your time and leadership – and congratulations to all involved on your dedication to the pursuit of excellence!

Peer tutoring is one of the best ways a band student can help themselves experience success. If you or your student would like more information on ways to participate, please contact Mrs Kluga.

Thank you to the parent volunteers who have offered to help!  I’m looking forward to seeing you during your chosen time-slots (Wednesday 11/1, Thursday 11/2 and Friday 11/3 from 7:15-9:00amand from 12:30 – 2:15pm).

* The citrus sale ENDS on Tuesday 10/31.

* Forms and payments DUE Wednesday 11/1.

* Our TONS of citrus will be delivered Monday 12/18.  Your student is responsible for picking up their entire order between 2:30 and 7:00pm at YHS.

Support our Huskers as they take on Somers for the championship (a re-match from last year!)  ALL band students are invited to attend!  Let’s show our Husker Pride! A Sign-up sheet is available in the band room.

What: Pep Band performance at the Varsity Football game

When: Friday, 11/3 2017

Report Time: 5:30 PM.  Bus leaves at 6:00. Game is at 7:00.

End Time: approximately 10:00 PM

Where:  YHS Band Room.

Wear: Your YHS Band polo shirt.  If you think you will be chilly, please wear a long-sleeved turtleneck/t-shirt under the polo.  If you still think you’ll be cold, bring a coat/sweatshirt.

Hot Chocolate / Snacks?: If your family is able to donate any of these items for our band students to enjoy during the game, please e-mail Mrs Kluga.  As always, your donations are much appreciated!!
