Parent volunteers are needed to help us plan this event. Roles include: securing raffle prizes, creating raffle baskets, planning logistics, and working the raffle table, admissions table, and buffet table the evening of the event. Our next committee meeting is Thursday 1/12 from 6-7pm at YHS. Please let Ms. Kluga know if you would be able to help – we would love to have you join our team!

Our next major event is the fun and fabulous Swing Dance Concert! Please save the date: Saturday, February 11th2023 from 7-10:30pm in the YHS Gym. All YHS Band students are required to attend.
Now in its 14th year, the Swing Dance Concert is an eagerly anticipated, well-attended and fun evening for our entire Yorktown community (each year we have many senior citizens and community members attend and enjoy the evening with us!).
Many thanks to the First Nighters’ for hosting our Pappous fundraiser and 50/50 raffle. And, thanks to all our YHS Band families who supported these efforts! Please consider joining this awesome and important parent group!
We only have 2 rehearsals left until our concert. We need everyone present. Rehearsals are 7:00-8:30. Students are asked to arrive by 6:50 to warm up and tune. Music, recordings, and this week’s HW are all available on Dashboard.
Parents, we are looking for volunteers to help us plan this fun and fabulous event! Our in-person planning meeting is this Tuesday 11/29 from 6-7pm at YHS. If you are interested in joining our team, please RSVP so that Ms. Kluga knows to expect you. Thanks!
Again this year, the YHS Band program is sponsoring a needy child for the holidays. Her name is Roneshia and she is in first grade. Using part of the funds we have raised through our tag sale and citrus sale, the Band Officers will purchase items from her list to Santa. If you are interested in donating additional items, please contact me. Roneshia wears a size 2 youth shoe, and size 7-8 shirt/pants. We are interested in all clothing items (pj’s, outfits, socks, and shoes), and a few toys/treats. All items are needed by Monday 12/5.
A reminder that our Winter Band concert will take place on Tuesday 12/13 at 7:00pm in the YHS Auditorium. Students will be asked to arrive by 6:30 to warm up. Jazz Band will be asked to arrive by 5:45 for our soundcheck.
To celebrate our student’s performance, we will host a reception in the cafeteria. Below is the SignUp Genius. Thank you for helping us celebrate our students – your donations of time and reception items are so appreciated! (And, thank you to Mrs. Aoukar and Mrs. Gambetta for creating the signup!)
A reminder of our concert dress requirements as outlined in the Band Handbook. We call it “Concert Black.” Thanksgiving break is a great time to hit the sales for items your student may need!
