CONCERT DRESS

A reminder of our concert dress requirements is listed below. We call it “Concert Black.” Photos are attached, FYI.

Ladies:

·      Black dress pants or long black skirt. Ladies, long means that your skirt falls below the knee.  (no black jeans/jeggings/tights/yoga pants)

·      Black Blouse– longish sleeves (no sleeveless shirts or spaghetti straps)

·      Black Dress Shoes

Gentlemen:

·      Black Dress Pants (no black jeans/track pants/sweat pants)

·      Black, Button-Down, Long Sleeved Shirt

·      Black Socks and black dress shoes

JAZZ BAND

Our remaining rehearsals before the winter concert are listed below. Please mark your calendars. If you have an immovable conflict please let Mrs. Kluga know so we can make a plan.

Thursday 11/18: 7-8:30

Tuesday 11/23: 7-8:30

Monday 12/6: 7-8:30pm (Dress Rehearsal)

Rehearsal #7 was sounding tight! There is always feedback though…as discussed there is still a punch-list of measures that need personal/sectional practice. Please also spend significant time getting to know our new song selection. See Dashboard for specifics. Happy practicing!

GUIDED PRACTICE SESSIONS PERIOD 9

Offered weekly and hosted by our junior and senior band members. Thank you! Students who lead or attend a session receive 1 point of extra credit. Sessions are held period 9, unless noted otherwise. Mrs. Kluga is also always available for help by appointment.

The First Nighters is a parent group whose mission is to support our YCSD Performing Arts programs.  Their sponsorship form is attached.

IN-PERSON CONCERTS AT YHS!

We are so thrilled to announce that our students will perform in-person! Concerts will begin at 7pm in the YHS auditorium. Students will be asked to arrive by 6:30. Please save these dates:

·      Tuesday 12/7 – Band

·      Thursday 12/16 – Snow Date

The auditorium audience capacity is unlimited.  Masks are required.

Each ensemble (Concert Band, Jazz Band, and Wind Ensemble) will perform from the stage area with 6′ distancing. Students who are not performing will be seated in the audience to support their peers.

Thank you to those who purchased citrus through our contact-free sale. With your support the YHS Bands sold 272 boxes and earned over $2,600 in profit. To view your individual sales, follow the instructions below.

VIEW YOUR ON-LINE SALES

Students can login to see if anyone has credited a purchase to their account. Go to www.ifundraise.com/member.

·      Log in with first and last name, and their member ID (which is available on Dashboard under the “Account Funds” tab on the left side of the page).

·      FYI for Wind Ensemble the login is last name, first name.

·      Once you have logged in click on the blue button that says “Reports,” then next to the word “Report” select “Detailed Summary E-commerce” from the drop-down menu.

PEP BAND

We had a fun and spirited group on Friday evening 10/22 – thank you to those who came out to support our Huskers on senior night! Ms. Kluga is waiting to hear if there is a home playoff game this week. Stay tuned.
