After receiving guidance from our YCSD admin, here is our updated Spring Concert information:
WHAT: YHS Spring Band Concert
WHEN: Friday 6/4 @2:30pm (rain date Monday 6/7 @ 2:30pm)
WHERE: The concert will be held outdoors on the YHS Campus
WEAR: Concert Black
Gentlemen- Long sleeved button-down black shirt, black shoes, black socks
Ladies- Black top (appropriate neck-line, with sleeves), long black skirt or black pants.
GUESTS: Seniors (only) will be allowed to bring 2 guests each. The concert will be video-taped and/or live-streamed for the rest of our audience to enjoy.
All students (remote and in person) are asked to arrive on the sidewalk outside the Band Room by 2:00. Remote students, please bring your signed health attestation and see Ms. Kluga to have your temperature checked
Please mark your calendars. To prepare for our in-person performance, all students will be asked to attend two in-person outdoor rehearsals, each from 1:45-2:30. Remote students, please bring your signed health attestation and see Ms. Kluga to have your temperature checked.

Our music honor society, Tri-M, is hosting a virtual Music Trivia Night on Friday, May 21st at 6:30 pm. The event is open to every student enrolled in the YHS music program. Details are below and attached.

The First Nighters sponsored photo sessions for our awesome Performing Arts Seniors will take place on Saturday, May 22nd. Please sign up using this link. Each photo session is 15 minutes and will take place outdoors near the front entrance of YHS.
Pictures will be available on Mr. Castner’s website, and each senior will be highlighted on Twitter. Band students, please wear concert black for your photo, hold your instrument, and wear your senior pin (which Ms. Kluga will give to you soon).
Dearest Seniors: Ms. Kluga wants to help make your last week’s in our YHS Band program as special as possible, by upholding the most band traditions as possible! She would love to feature you in our YHS Band Spring Concert program. Please use the attached worksheet to help you compose a short paragraph about yourself, and e-mail it to Ms. Kluga by Friday 5/28.
Our band program would not be what it is without awesome student leadership! If you are enthusiastic about band, and would like the opportunity to devote your time to its success, please consider running for office. The application is attached to Ms. Kluga’s latest update email and is due by Friday, May 28th.
Our rehearsal and yearbook photo will take place in person this THURSDAY 5/13 from 2-3pm. Please wear (or bring) concert black and a crazy tie.

The Greater Westchester Youth Orchestra Association is a local audition-only symphony orchestra (strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion). It is a wonderful opportunity to grow as a musician, learn advanced repertoire, and perform alongside other dedicated and aspiring music students. A flyer with audition information is attached.
