Many thanks to all who helped make this weekend a success! After sorting through and organizing mountains of donations Friday afternoon and evening, we kicked off our sale at 9am Saturday and enjoyed a steady stream of customers throughout the day. In all we made over $3,000 in profit! And, all remaining items were donated to the Order of the Purple Heart. None of this would have been possible without your help and support; many thanks to all who donated items, refreshments, or your valuable time.
And, though our Tag Sale is a fundraiser, the special YHS Music Department memories the event creates are priceless. There was so much joy this weekend; our students had fun volunteering, alumni stopped by to say hello and give updates on their life’s journey, and alumni families (some from decades ago) dropped off donations of support.
This is the magic of our music community.
Special thanks to parent organizers Sarah Gambetta, Michele Newberger, Michelle Olener, and Laura Tropp for their tireless logistical and advertising expertise!
Extra special thanks to Sarah Gambetta for her amazing work organizing the parent volunteers and working out so many of our logistical and planning details behind the scenes. And, special thanks also to the fabulous Giuliano family at Yorktown Pizza and Pasta for donating food for our volunteers!
Attached are some photos of our Tag Sale experience for you to enjoy 🙂
The YHS Music Department On-Line Citrus Sale is running through 10/29.

This week, students will experience recording their first video assessment of the year. This assessment will act as a base-line to help the student and I form a learning plan – what musical concepts they are confident in, and what concepts we will focus on improving. Please do not think this performance has to be perfect, prepare well and try your best!
Instructions on how to complete this assignment were reviewed in class, and are available on Google Classroom. The music to prepare was handed out in class as a hard copy and is also available on Dashboard. Videos are private, only shared with me, and I will use a rubric to offer feedback to each student individually.
