To welcome our freshman and welcome back our returning students, I would like to invite all YHS Band students to our 20^th annual Ice Cream Social – an evening of new friends, fun games, and yummy ice cream.  New this year, in celebration of our entire YHS Music Department, this event will also include our Orchestra and Choir students. Dr. Bhasin, Ms. Stock and Ms. Kluga hope to see you there!

Congratulations to our awesome class of 2021 band students! It has been Ms. Kluga’s honor to be your teacher for four years – my love and best wishes to all as you begin your next adventures in life! Please stay in touch 🙂

Although the YHS Band and Orchestra are not able to perform in-person at this year’s ceremony, our June 2020 recording of Pomp and Circumstance, and a selection of our 2021 concert recordings will be featured. Ms. Kluga is so pleased that our music students will still have the opportunity to contribute to this beloved YHS tradition!

Huge thanks to this enthusiastic group for their continued work to support our seniors and our program! On behalf of the YHSBAA, each senior will receive a graduation goodie bag with information on how to join. Info is also attached.

Looking ahead to next school year, please save the date for YHS Band Ice Cream Social #20. We look forward to welcoming our freshmen and welcoming back our returning band students! Ice Cream Social 2021 is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday 9/1, 6-8pm, outside at YHS.

If you would like band in your schedule for next year, please double check with your guidance counselor to avoid possible scheduling conflicts.

If you are interested in becoming a member of our core group of band parent helpers, please e-mail Ms. Kluga.  We will be meeting in August to start planning next year’s events (finger’s crossed).  A big THANK YOU to all the awesome parents who helped make this year a success!

This vital parent organization is very much in need of your help. If you are interested in volunteering with the First Nighters, please e-mail Ms. Kluga and she will forward them your information. Currently, there is only 1 member on the board.

Keep practicing over the summer! If you are interested in renting an instrument from YHS, please e-mail Ms. Kluga (fee is $25, check made payable to Yorktown Central School District).  Instruments will be ready for pick up by the end of exams.  If you are interested in exploring private lessons, Ms. Kluga would be happy to provide you with more information.
